Additional Driver Information

Age Requirements
The minimum age for all drivers is 23 years and maximum is 65 years
Drivers License and ID Requirements
The renter and additional drivers must be minimum 23 years and in possession of a valid national or international driving licence. Other nationals who hold a valid driving licence in English can drive in Malaysia for a maximum of 3 months. Probationer driver licence holders will not be accepted. An international driving licence is requester for licences in non-roman alphabet.
Rule of the road: drive on the left and seat belt is compulsory for front and back passengers.
Payment Options
Charge cards
American express, Avis, MasterCard and affiliates, visa and affiliates, Avis and Avis honoured travel vouchers. cash payment are not possible at checkout and check-in.
Payment by personal cheque is not available

Meet Late Arrival
Pick-up or delivery, and drop-off or collection services before or after operating hours, on Sundays, or on public holidays will incur an additional surcharge. Before / after operating hours is RM100 Taxable 6%;
After 0000 HRS (12:00am) to 0700 HRS (7:00am) is RM150 Taxable 6%.

Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection services are available upon request (subject to manpower availability). The delivery and collection charges are calculated based on distance and timing.

One Way Rentals
If the Renter picks up a vehicle in one place and drops it off somewhere else, the one-way and intercity charges will be imposed. The charges are to cover the cost of taking the vehicle back to its original location. The charges are calculated based on distance and timing from RM50 to RM350 within Peninsular Malaysia and RM350 to RM800 within East Malaysia. Please refer to the Avis representative before confirmation of booking.
Waiver and Protection Options
a) The rental charges under this Agreement include Liability to Third Party which is unlimited amount for death or bodily injury to third party and up to a maximum of RM3 million for third party property damage.
b) We provide the Standard Protection Package (Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP)) which you only pay the Excess subject to the vehicle group (even if it is not your fault). The Standard Protection Package is compulsory to be included in the rental charges. You have no option to exclude it.
c) Collison Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) are the excess which cannot be waived or deductible in the event of damage to the vehicle during the rental period. All rentals are subject to a CDW and TP, ranging from *RM500 to *RM2,000 depending on the vehicle group and it shown overleaf. For example, If the repair cost is *RM5,000, with the coverage of CDW, you are liable for a maximum excess fee of *RM750 (if the vehicle’s Excess is *RM750); If the repair cost is *RM500, with the coverage of CDW, you are liable for the actual repair cost of *RM500 (even if the vehicle’s Excess is *RM750).
d) Windscreen Protection (WP) is not included in the Rental charges. Hence, you shall pay the full cost of damage to the vehicle windscreen. However, if you purchase the WP at RM5 per day or RM50 per month, your liability for the windscreen is from *RM500 to *RM2,000 depending on the vehicle group.
e) If you purchase Vehicle Cover Plus Package which the CDW, TP and WP’s excess shall be reduced completely. The Vehicle Cover Plus Package (Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW), Super Theft Protection (STP), Super Windscreen Protection (SWP)) is available at *RM30 per day or *RM300 per month. Your liability is reduced to Zero.
f) Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is not included in the Rental charges. Should you purchase this at RM6 per day or *RM180 per month, the coverage of PAI is as below:
Death or permanent disablement
Driver & Passenger – RM20,000 per person, maximum RM100,000 in total.
g) CDW / TP / WP / PAI / SCDW / STP / SWP shall not cover the following events, and you are liable to pay the full cost of damage and theft to the vehicle, including loss of use as determined by us:
i) where a police report is not lodged within 24 hours from the time of accident.
ii) you are in breach of the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
iii) missing items or accessories in and/or to the vehicle.
iv) any damage claims caused by drunk and/or drug intoxicated driver.
v) any damaged tyres which is not attributable to normal wear and tear.
vi) any damaged undercarriage and/or underbody damage which is not attributable to a collision with another vehicle.
vii) any damage to the vehicle caused by flood, fire, landslide and/or riot.
x) where the vehicle has been driven on off-road or for racing, pace-making, testing the vehicle’s reliability and speed or teaching someone to drive.
viii) where the vehicle is entered into Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Langkawi, Labuan, Tioman, Redang, Pangkor island and etc.
ix) where the loss, damage or theft is caused intentionally, or due to gross negligence of you or an authorised driver.

Rental conditions / rates excl vat:
DAILY RATE: RM20.00 PER DAY PLUS VAT
WEEKLY RATE: RM140.00 PLUS VAT
The price for GPS is capped at 10 days.
The following costs will apply in case of:
Missing or damaged avis satellite navigation unit: RM600.00 taxable 6%
Missing or damaged vehicle power cable: RM160.00 taxable 6 %
Missing or damaged suction cup / cradle: RM180.00 taxable 6 %
Fuel charges
All fuel consumed during the period of rental and a refuelling service charge shall be levied if you have used, and not replaced, more fuel than we supplied originally (unless at the time of signature of this Agreement a sum has been entered overleaf, in which event you have opted to pay that sum for a full tank of fuel, it being understood that no credit shall be granted for any unused fuel at the termination of the rental). It is advisable for the Renter to check the Avis business hours before confirmation of booking.
Fines
All fines and court costs for parking, traffic or other offences (including any costs which arise if the vehicle is clamped). You shall pay the appropriate authority any fines and costs. If you do not, you shall be responsible to pay us administration charges (RM10.60 per transaction), which arise when we deal with these matters.
Miscellaneous Information
Usage of vehicle
*Not to use the vehicle in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei. Subsequently the vehicles are prohibited from being loaded onto other modes of transportation via sea, river, and air for usage from mainland to Langkawi, Tioman, Redang, Pangkor island etc.
*Carry Durians, mangosteens and any other fruits bearing strong odor, smoking and pets into the vehicle. These are strictly prohibited and a fine of RM500.00 (subject to 6% Service Tax) shall impose for any non-compliance.
Excess Hours
Daily and weekly rental rates are based on 24 hours, and should the rental exceed more than 30 minutes, it would be charged as an additional day rental. Monthly rental rates are based on a calendar month, and if the rental exceeds one (1) month, the pro-rata extended day rental will be calculated
Toll Card (Touch N' GO card)
You must purchase this Touch N' Go card if you are landing at KLIA and KLIA2. This card can be purchased at Avis Counter. It is advisable for the Renter to check the Avis business hours before confirmation of booking.
